RTTS Provides Proven XML Testing Strategy
J2EE and .NET Complexities Increase the Need for Automated Testing
NEW YORK, March 21, 2002 -RTTS, a leader in IT application and architecture testing, revealed today the strategy that they have implemented successfully on client sites to conduct XML testing. With the introduction of software designed to help companies create, exchange and interact with content and with each other, testing and managing complex data issues has become problematic. RTTS has built a strategy of full data integrity validation across the complete system architecture and supports the value-added benefits of both .NET and J2EE development platforms.
With the acceptance of SOAP/XML as a standard data transmission format, issues of XML data content have become increasingly crucial. The growing use of XML for in-house data transmission between proprietary systems and the XML data swapping that will occur as Web Services become the norm in online computing, point to the centrality of data content testing in the successful deployment of XML-dependent systems. The business benefits are multifold. By introducing standards and a repeatable way of conducting business on the Web, testing considerably reduces the cost of doing e-business and time-to-market.
"The ability to easily manufacture request-XML documents and to capture and parse response-XML using automated testing tools provides a powerful testing solution for use during system development, pre-release testing, and post-release system monitoring," said Bill Hayduk, Director of Professional Services for RTTS. "As system architecture trends shift toward greater complexity, approaches like RTTS' provide testing implementations that help bring sophisticated systems to release successfully."
As part of its strategy, RTTS has developed components to facilitate the validation of data content of XML documents. These COM components can be called using most automated functional testing tools to parse response-XML documents for the comparison of their data content with baseline data.
In addition, RTTS has developed strategies for automated production of request-XML documents for posting to facilitate the testing of Web Services. XML testing is another integral component of RTTS' end-to-end testing strategy. To learn more about RTTS' End-to-End Testing strategy, click here.
